2018 – Doorway to Freedom

Everybody wants a road map. It seems, though, that as fast as one road map appears to get you to where you want, there’s another crossroad you will be forced to face to get you to the next stage of the next level of your own life. 2018 will have its own unique and distinct roads to travel for all of us. Some of them will be traveled with others; and other roads we will be forced to travel alone.

But whatever road map we choose or even chart ourselves, it will require some basic spiritual principles that will keep us moving forward even in the midst of setbacks, distractions and comebacks:

1. Prudence – the discipline of prudence combines knowledge, timing and purpose. Prudence without the Holy Spirit is legalism.

  1. The Prudent man conceals knowledge, and knows where and how he should use that knowledge. Proverbs 12:23
  2. The Prudent man knows how to use knowledge. Proverbs 13:16
  3. Prudence in action results and self-control. Proverbs. 14:18
  4. Prudence is a condition of the heart. Proverbs 16:21
  5. A Prudent wife is from the Lord. Proverbs 19:14
  6. Prudence gives insight and foresees evil. Proverbs 22:3
  7. Prudence without humility is pride. Matthew 11:25

2. Diligence – Proverbs 13:4 the soul of the sluggard craves and has nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.

3. Vigilance – to be awake, not to be sleepy. 1 Peter 5:8 the word Vigilant comes from the Greek word Gregorio. It is used 20 times in the New Testament, specifically to be ready in every moment to resist the devil. James 4:7

4. Vision – write the vision. A vision that is unwritten is a plan that is unrealized. Habakkuk 2:2. Where there is no vision the people perish. Proverbs 29:18

5. Purpose – working together. Romans 8:28. Purpose is also directional; objectionable which means to have specific objectives; and relational, having to do with others who are to be affected by the actions undertaken. All of God’s plans when not only action-oriented but they were people-directed.

6. Wisdom – Wisdom is cognition in 3 realms: the mind, the spirit and the body.

7. Knowledge – My people perish for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6 What you don’t know is fatal. Working harder without working smarter is presumption and risks all the success you have gained thus far.

Freedom 2018

Governments don’t free. God is the only one who sets an individual free. Free Rhythm is a byproduct of a relational life with the truth. Jesus said in John chapter 8 “The truth shall make you free.”

Since the truth makes you free, ignorance makes you and keeps you a slave. We need to be not only educated but also elevated by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Tony Evans writes in his book, The Battle is the Lord’s, that Satan attempts to manipulate what appears to be the truth with several different strategies. We have all encountered these on some level or another. Here is his list:

Relativism This is the lie that the truth is ever-changing, and always on the move. What can be true today may not be true tomorrow.

Subjectivism Subjectivism says that truth is strictly personal. It follows the same line, well that may be true for you but it’s not true for me. Truth is not a matter of personal choice.

Empiricism Empiricism says that truth resides only in what we can see and feel and measure. Truth depends on evidence and data that you can gather and evaluate.

Existentialism This says that truth is found in what you can experience. The only thing that matters to individuals who are existentialist is what is happening at the moment.

Rationalism Rationalism is all about the right formula and the right processes. This is clearly the science of science trumps all other conflicting data. Equations formulas systems. We can explain everything.

Phenomenalism This states that if something appears to be a phenomenon or out of the normal course of events it can be definitely true. Phenomenalism is replete with counterfeits. Remember the basis for all counterfeits is the authentic. With the powers of phenomenalism is the fact that it stands out it’s out of the ordinary. We’re all looking for something which stands out. The difference between a phenomenon and a miracle is ultimately a phenomenon is explainable by either fax or by the fiction that it presents. A miracle on the other hand basically is that which is impossible becomes possible through no work on the part of the individual but simply by an expression and manifestation of the Divine godhead, the trinity.

Pantheism This is basically paganism but modernized to look like it’s something different and new and very relevant. An example of pantheism is Scientology.

Pragmatism The whole idea behind pragmatism is that if it works in must be true.

You may ask, “How can you be so sure 2018 is a doorway year?” To which I say, “If Jesus said, ‘I am the Door,’ I am walking in!”
